POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was mugged at knifepoint in a Southampton park, it was revealed today.
Two attackers stole the 21-year-old man's wallet containing £70 as he was walking through Southampton Common near the Hawthorns Wildlife Centre.
They approached the man and asked for a cigarette, and the victim handed over a pouch of rolling tobacco.
One of the attackers then pointed a knife at the victim's chest and demanded money.
The victim initially refused but eventually handed over a wallet containing approximately £70.
The two men ran off into the direction of Bellemoore Road.
The first suspect is described as a white male, between 18 and 19 years old, 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build with thick eyebrows and dark facial stubble.
He was wearing a black Nike hooded top with a logo on the left shoulder consisting of a white with either the numbers 70 or 90 embroided on it.
He was also wearing black Nike tracksuit trousers with two white piping lines down the outside of the leg.
The second suspect is described as a white male, between 18 and 19 years old, 5ft 11ins tall and of slim build.
He was wearing a plain grey hooded top with the hood up and dark blue Adidas tracksuit trousers with three broad white lines down the outside of the leg.
The incident, which took place on January 12 but details have only been released by police today.
