A new appeal has been issued to find a missing Hampshire man who vanished eight years ago after telling a casino doorman he would jog home.
There have been no reported sightings of Paul Balmforth, pictured, since he left the Grosvenor Casino.
Now a national charity is making a fresh appeal for information on the anniversary of Paul Balmforth's disappearance.
Missing People hopes that a new appeal will help find out what happened to the aspiring writer from Dibden Purlieu who was 27 when he disappeared on February 8, 2000.
Carrying a black bag, believed to contain a manuscript of a novel he was writing, Paul, who would now be 35, left the casino in Leisure World and was never seen or heard from again and his bag and manuscript have never been found.
One theory of his disappearance suggested that Paul, who worked as a baker in Asda on Western Esplanade in Southampton, may have tried to swim across Southampton Water to Marchwood.
If you have seen Paul or have news of his whereabouts, please call the confidential 24-hour charity Missing People on Freefone 0500 700 700 or e-mail seensomeone@missing people.org.uk
