MAIL bosses today confirmed that Winchester's main post office will move into WH Smith 220 yards away.
The post office will move along the High Street from 9am on May 22.
Post Office Ltd spokesman Mike Dalton said: "This is a great solution for customers. WH Smith Retail has shown throughout the consultation period that it is wholly committed to providing the excellent face-to-face service that Post Office customers expect and deserve."
WH Smith regional manager Ian Rowley added: "We will be offering the full range of Post Office services, alongside our own extensive choice of products, and will employ highly trained staff in a convenient location that is open longer and fully accessible to all customers. At a time when so many branches face an uncertain future, this is good news for Post Office customers in Winchester."
