FANS of rock star Meat Loaf were left disappointed again after the music legend failed to impress at his latest gig date in Yorkshire.

The rocker is reported to have sworn at hordes of fans about being teetotal during his latest concert at Castle Howard on Friday night.

Reviews of the gig claimed fans left the concert early after the singer appeared to hit out at criticism that he didn't interact with the audience during previous shows on his tour.

One fan claimed he was frequently out of tune, nowhere near the top notes and often slurred the lyrics' before saying the ticket was an absolute waste of money'.

However, another fan claimed that people were leaving early to beat the traffic and that everyone in the audience were enjoying the gig'.

The news comes after the Daily Echo reported on Friday how the 60-year-old Texan rocker apologised for his poor performance in front of a 10,000-strong crowd at Broadlands in Romsey.

His apology came after the paper was inundated with letters and e-mails from concert goers who had paid out £37.50 plus booking fee for a ticket but were left furious over the poor sound quality and lacklustre' performance.

Isn't it about time the Echo dropped its hounding of Meat Loaf? It's had its say on the matter, it's not the job of a Hampshire local newspaper to stalk and harass Meat all over the country. I hope his lawyers take action against these idiots

So now the Echo sees fit to report on what one person 300 miles away thought of a completely different show? Yawn. This isn't news. There are always poor reviews of gigs, regardless of what it was actually like. Whether the Broadlands gig was any good or not is another matter, but if the Echo is going to spend the rest of the year scouring the music press for "proof" that Meat Loaf is rubbish, you have to wonder whether they've lost sight of their remit as a local newspaper

Come on Echo, remember your station in life

OK seriously enough is enough. It's time this paper put down the over sized spoon and quit with its stirring. Local newspaper scratching for news - time to go back to 'reporting' on missing pets guys and LEAVE MEAT LOAF ALONE.

Castle Howard was an awesome gig, Meat sang his heart out. He was on fire, his vocals were superb! The band were amazing too. I really think that the Daily Echo are out of line, it is blatant that they are out on a witch hunt regarding Meat! The crowd were amazing and they were certainly enjoying what they were seeing and hearing. Meat is still an amazing performer, so he doesn't sound like the cd, so what show me a band that does! Studio recording is very different to live performances! I will be seeing Meat again, he puts his heart and soul into his gigs, and i for one walk away very happy that yet again i have witnessed a great show!

Aaaaaaaaargh!!!

If this ever was news, it's definitely not anymore. If I wanted to read pointless criticism of performances that the journalist didn't even intend, I'd read NME. Get off Meat's back, you've had your apology. Nobody was dragged to the gig at gunpoint. If you don't like Meat Loaf live, never see him again, it really is that simple. Dozens of people didn't like him. Thousands of people did. I must reiterate that this is not news.

Forget this tripe and go to the Guardian online (that's a newspaper with proper journalism) and you can read a sensible review of Meat Loaf's performance last night (in short: 4 stars, no mention of anyone leaving early and written by a journalist who clearly gets the theatrics of Mr Loaf). I hope this website ends it's disgusting attack on a performing great.

Oh No......Not yet ANOTHER article from Hampshire.net (what does this make now 10?) Slamming Meat Loaf, c'mon guys, what REALLY gives? What's your personal beef with Meat Loaf?
This is such a joke

In any crowd of ten thousand I'm sure it's possible to hunt down a few malcontents .. and if you can't, to invent them.

The many thousands who have enjoyed every show of Meat's this short tour, who have stood in the rain at outdoor ones, and who have sung their hearts out and given him a standing ovation and the real testament to what he's achieved every night. His vocals have been fantastic, his humour appreciated, the splendour of his genuine rock and roll gig undoubted, bu all but a few journalists apparently determined to harass him.

I've seen reviews where they even refer to songs he didn't sing.

He's still the best at what he does, and the British press should be as ashamed of themselves as I am, so often, of them.

This report is a lying disgrace!
I was at Castle Howard and this was the best concert I've been to in years - and I've been to a lot. I did not see one person who did not enjoy the gig and in the huge queue to leave AFTER the end of the concert, nobody had a bad word to say.
Meat's theatrical joke about tee-totalers is exactly what you expect at his or any rock-concert and was a good laugh.
The atmosphere was electric and the big man put in 100% of effort as he always does.
Thanks for the great show Meat!

Get a Life you guys, pick your dummies up and put your toys back in the play pen.
The concert at Castle Howard was brilliant, I met Meat before the show and found him to be a totally genuine guy who is there for his fans. His performance was superb, the atmosphere electric and he sang live (more than some 'popstars' manage). It's getting so boring seeing negative reports by people who weren't even there.
So what that he didn't hit all the notes, so what that the sound wasn't CD quality, so what that it rained (not that most of us noticed) - I for one went to see a performer that gives his all for his REAL fans, who has fans from every age group and who can still give 2 hours of absolute pleasure to those who aren't just there to pick fault (as most reporters seem to be) AND I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED .
I DID NOT LEAVE EARLY.
I HEARD NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS FROM ANYONE.
NO-ONE AROUND ME WHINGED ABOUT THE SOUND QUALITY.
We all had a brilliant time (my kids were there too) enjoyed the atmosphere and danced in the mud.
If you southern softies want your pitch perfect singer - go to the opera. If you want CD quality sound, sit at home and play the album, but for heavens (and Meat Loaf fans sake) QUIT THE WHINING

FUNNY...the Irish newspapers are giving RAVE reviews on his concert at Bundoran:

"He is absolutely amazing. It has been worth the wait," said one delighted fan as Meat Loaf took to the stage just before 9pm"

Gosh.....I guess he just suddenly got better?
