Also, ditches around Fort Holiday Park in Sandown will struggle to drain while river levels are high.
The Met Office has forecast rainfall for the Island from 3pm today and heavy overnight.
"This rainfall will cause the river to rise," the alert adds.
"Should these higher rainfall totals impact the catchment, then property flooding is possible.
"We will continue to monitor the forecast and will ensure the river remains free of any reported blockages.
"Please ensure any products used to protect gardens and property from flooding are operating. Avoid walking or driving through flood water."
The Isle of Wight Council has sandbags available in the following locations:
- St Mary’s car park, Cowes
- Well Road, East Cowes
- Simeon Street Recreation Ground, Ryde
The Environment Agency will issue a flood update at 11am tomorrow (Thursday).
