Urban singers from Southampton were given the unique chance to showcase their talent in a private recording booth.

The mini-studio in Foot Locker in Southampton High Street gave budding artists the chance to win a one-year recording contract.

Successful auditions from the recording booth could qualify for the televised heats to be broadcast on satellite TV.

The booth was in the store for three days in association with the Urban Music Awards where the winner will perform.

On top of the chance to play at a music awards ceremony and a recording contract the winner also receives £5,000.

The winner will be unveiled after the TV heats at the Urban Music Awards on November 1 where they will receive the award of Britains Next Urban Superstar. Emma Reeves-Parry is pictured here. To see Emma's performance log on to dailyecho.co.uk.
