A charity is hosting an open day in a bid to recruit more volunteers to help Hampshire's deaf.
The south Hampshire branch of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is organising a free awareness day, hoping to attract more puppy socialisers.
The charity is desperate for more recruits to help train more dogs to alert profoundly deaf owners to everyday household sounds.
The highlight of the day will be a live hearing dog demonstration and the chance for potential volunteers to speak to those already involved with training dogs.
Sue Pellow, from the charity, said: "We are hoping that people will drop by to meet some puppy socialisers and learn about the valuable contribution they make to the development of young hearing dog recruits."
The event will take place at the Underhill Centre, at St John's Church in Hedge End, on September 22, from 10.30am.
