In their home National Junior League fixture last weekend, Bexley Athletics Club finished a very creditable fourth behind neighbouring Dartford Harriers despite fielding only nine atheletes.
Victor Barzey scored a very good win in the 200 metres in a time of 23.4seconds as well as taking second place in the 100m in 11.6sec.
Lee Wilkins maintained the good work by winning the discus with a throw of 33.72m, and also performed well in the hammer when second with 35.10m. And, for good measure, he took third in the shot with 10.96m.
Shaun Mealen won the B-string hammer with 29.43m, while Stuart Moody was triumphant in the B-string javelin, throwing 39.14m.
Tony Brewer took the B class discus with 29.78m and was third in the javelin with a throw of 41.54m.
The 4x100m relay squad of Barzey, Jack Webb, Jack Lenzan and Ross Jenner then rounded off a good day for the Bexley club by winning in a fine 3mins 38.8sec.
