Bigoted views

I refer to your report Islamic School Outrage (News Shopper, October 31). I was shocked to read of the negative attitude of some of the residents of Chislehurst who are protesting at the highly commendable scheme which, at no cost to the taxpayer, will expand and improve the facilities on their own land, for the children of the Islamic school, Danil Uloom. Mrs Trisha Whitehead's bigoted views are to be deplored, I wonder if she and her co-petitioners would have the same objections had the proposals come from a Christian denominational school? I hope this demonstration, by a small minority fortunately, receives the contempt it deserves.
