Hair-raising feat helps charity

11:47am Thursday 3rd January 2002

THREE volunteers raised more than £3,000 by having their heads shaved for charity.

Rian and Damien Wakeman and Daniel Mace had their locks lopped off in front of 50 locals at the Guy Earl of Warwick pub, in Welling, by Kate Norton and Karen Brooks. The money will go towards Imperial Cancer Research.

Landlord of the pub in Park View Paul Burrows said: "Around 50 people turned up to see the three guys having their hair shaved off. It took 45 minutes to do."
