Business steps in to help with pet food

A BUSINESS has come to the aid of a rescue charity after the animal food it depends on was stolen.
The Daily Echo reported how animal food worth £1,800 had been stolen from Second Chance Animal Rescue in Southampton.
After reading about the theft, staff at Remarkable Marketing and Communica-tions Agency rallied round to buy supplies from local supermarkets.
The charity has received a number of kind donations, including a £150 voucher from SCATS Country Stores in Winchester and a donation from Pets at Home in Eastleigh.
Volunteers at the rescue centre were furious to find the animal food gone after returning from fundraising in Portsmouth and Eastleigh.
Rose Milne, rescue co-ordinator at Second Chance, said: “The Remarkable Group’s kindness is greatly appreciated. I can’t thank them enough.
“We’ve more than 100 animals that need to be fed, so this was a disaster. To respond as quickly as they did was a great effort.”
Stephen Pomeroy, chief executive of Remarkable, said: “We take great pleasure in supporting what we believe is an extremely worthwhile cause.”
