Thieves steal thousands of pounds worth of jewellery

THOUSANDS of pounds of jewellery has been stolen from a home in Rownhams, Hampshire.

A haul of five rings, containing precious stones, was stolen from the house in Hedgerow Close while the owners were out.

More than 200 "Saville lights" and "Lambert and Butler" cigarettes were also taken during the raid between 10am and 4pm on Thursday last week.

The stolen rings included:

  • A three stone antique diamond ring with one large stone and two smaller stones either side, worth about £2500.
  • An eternity ring with seven diamonds, worth about £2000.
  • A sapphire ring with three tiers of sapphires and diamonds, worth about £1000.
  • A pink ruby ring with six ruby stones and a diamond in the centre and a twisting design, worth about £1000.
  • A ring with two sapphires and a diamond set on a twist, worth about £500.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information about the burglary.
