HAMPSHIRE knitters are needed to help a make a kilometre long scarf in aid of The Children’s Society charity.
The event is intended to help the 100,000 children who run away form home each year in the UK-including 2,900 from Hampshire.
Susan Baxter, appeals manager at The Children’s Society said: “Whether you’ve knitted before or are a beginner, each centimetre you knit – and fund raise – can make a difference to the thousands of children who run away from home each year.”
The charity ensures that runaways have somewhere safe to go and gives children at risk advice, counselling and somebody to talk to. The Big Stitch campaign runs until January 13 next year. Contact 0845 300 1128 or visit www.childrenssociety.org.uk/bigstitch
