THE family of a Hampshire schoolboy who was killed while riding his bike have spoken of their loss.
Twelve year old Aarron was on his way to a recreation ground in the New Forest village of Bransgore when he was killed in a collision with a car at a busy road junction.
In a touching tribute, his family have told how the Ringwood Comprehensive School student was a promising cricket player with a zest of life.
In a statement, his mum and dad, Freda and Martin, and brother and sister, Robert and Leah, said: "He packed a lot into 12 years with us all and never was one to sit still for more than five minutes, as there always was something new to do or somewhere to go.
"We will miss him so much."
Aarron began his schooling at Stepping Stones playgroup in Sopley before progressing to Bransgore Primary school.
At the village cricket club, he even picked up the "manager's player of the year" award and was a captain at the Under 11 and 12 age group.
The statement added: "He loved the responsibility this brought and, along with his coach Rohan, guided the team to be one of the friendliest and hard-working sides in the area.
"Win or lose did not matter, as long as the game was played correctly and in the right spirit."
Aarron also loved angling and BMX riding and spent a lot of time with friends at the new skate park in the village.
The family also wished to thank the emergency and medical services who rushed to the tragic scene at the junction of Burley Road and Ringwood Road on September 30.
In the days that followed, scores of people left flowers and messages of condolence at the scene. There were also calls for the safety of the junction to be urgently addressed.
Roads chiefs say they will only be able to comment specifically on the crossroads once police investigations are complete.
Aaron's funeral will be at 11.30am Friday, October 10, at All Saints Church, Thorney Hill.
