A HAMPSHIRE couple have had their wedding rings stolen just days before they are due to tie the knot this Sunday.

The bride’s wedding ring was of particular sentimental value as it had been crafted and made from her late grandmother’s wedding ring.

Thieves also stole the crystal necklace that she was going to wear on her wedding day, which also previously belonged to her late grandmother.

The bride to be, who does not want to be named, said: “It feels like I’ve had part of my history stolen. Every birthday and Christmas present ever given to me by my family and friends have been taken, as well as the keepsakes left to me by my grandmother, which have no material value to anyone else.”

“Happening so close to the wedding it has taken away the joy and anticipation of it. I just feel so sad and deflated.”

Now Hallmark Jewellers of Titchfield are trying to get the bands remade in time for the wedding day.

During the raid at the property off School Road in Bursledon, thieves also stole a black leather jewellery box containing jewellery items including a ladies Armani stainless steel watch, a pink sapphire and diamond ring and earrings, matching emerald ring, earrings and a cross pendant.

Other items included a men’s Tag watch, a laptop in a carry case and a silver ipod and black leather wallet containing credit cards.

Anyone with information should call DC Eddie Burt at Eastleigh CID on 0845 045 4545.
