IT is enough to put even the greatest golfers off their stroke.
They are hardly the Chippendales or the toned hunks from the local gym. But armed with nothing more than socks, shoes and a cheeky smile, a bunch of Hampshire golfers have got into the swing of things by stripping off for a charity calendar.
The men are all committee members or trustees of local charity The Geoff Smith Foundation and have used a selection of golfing gloves, flags and umbrellas to hide their modesty.
Without a pair of pleated trousers or polo shirt in sight it may have seemed a little colder than usual for the 11 men as they stripped off at the Hampshire Golf Course at the Rose Bowl in West End.
But the cheeky calendars have become a surprise hit with almost 300 of the 400 £10 calendars being sold in the past few weeks.
Money raised from the calendar will go towards the foundation which helps people with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Geoff, 55, who was diagnosed with MS 11 years ago, said: “It so happened that the day we picked in March could not have been worse, one of the coldest and wettest days of the year.
“If you could just imagine the scene, 11 men in their dressing gowns walking out of the changing room and walking down to the first green, all wearing these bright-coloured, silly looking golf socks. Too make matters worse there was a golf competition going on, so we had to walk past golfers!”

I would love to know who Ted Rogers is !! Anyway, before so many of you sad muppets slag it off further - this was done as a bit of fun, and ultimately, has already raised a significant amount of money for charity - a charity that helps Mutiple Sclerosis sufferers across the region, and has raised over £260,000 in 11 years. Maybe some of you should think about that !!
