FOUR people were remanded in custody today in connection with £1.2 million-worth of cocaine seized on a cruise liner.
Is is alleged the four were found with a total of 30 kilos of cocaine strapped to their bodies during an operation involving HM Revenue and Customs and the UK Border Agency on the P&O ship Arcadia in Southampton early yesterday.
Natalie Ellen Quinn, 26, of Grenville Walk, Rochdale, Lancashire; Calvin Neil Hylton, 41, of Ermington Drive, Manchester; Briony Marie Dyce, 25, of Brearley Street, Handsworth, Birmingham; and Camille Danielle Dupee, 19, of Raleigh Close, Handsworth, Birmingham appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court today charged with the importation of a Class A drug.
All four were remanded in custody for seven days and they will appear again at Southampton Magistrates' Court on 27 October.
Three men were also arrested on the dockside but they have been released on police bail while inquiries continue.
None of those detained were crew members, the HMRC said.
