An eleven-year-old girl missing from Portchester has been found

An eleven-year-old girl from Portchester who went missing after leaving school has been found safe and well.

Police launched a hunt for Teigan Pitney after she didn’t return home from Portchester Community School on Friday afternoon.

Officers had become concerned for her welfare after she refused to get on the school bus home and told her older sister she was going to stay out overnight.

This morning police said they had called off the search on Saturday night after she was found “safe and well”.

A spokesman said Teigan had spent the night at a friend’s house without contacting her family and had then gone out for the day.
