Three charged with aggravated burglary in drug driver murder investigation

DETECTIVES investigating the possible revenge killing of a 20-year-old man have charged three people.

Dwayne Ayres was stabbed to death just days after being released from prison having completed a two-and-a-half year sentence for causing the death of two of his friends by dangerous driving while high on drugs.

He was attacked on the doorstep of a bungalow in Hook, Hampshire, at about 2am on Sunday.

Six people were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder and three others on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

This afternoon Lucy Ayres, 28, of Green Springs, Crondall, Stuart Young, 21, of Hyde End Road, Shinfield, and a 16-year-old from Hook were charged with aggravated burglary.

They are due to appear before Aldershot magistrates tomorrow.

A 24-year-old man held on suspicion of murder was bailed until January 14.

Two 21-year-old men, a 19-year-old man, a 20 year-old man and a 27-year-old man were previously released without charge.

Detectives say they are investigating several lines of inquiry as to what motive lay behind the attack.

Mr Ayres was jailed in October 2007 at Winchester Crown Court for causing the death of his friends Callum Forbes, 15, and John Bryant, 18.

The two teenagers were passengers in a Peugeot 206 being driven by Mr Ayres which hit a tree outside a school in March 2007 after he lost control driving at 66mph in a 40mph zone.

Two other teenage passengers were seriously injured in the smash outside Calthorpe Park School in Fleet, Hants.

The court was told that blood taken from Mr Ayres, then 19, revealed he had taken cocaine shortly before the crash.

The family of Mr Ayres described him as a ''lovely, caring son'' who leaves behind his partner Emily and 18-month-old son Richard.

A post mortem examination carried out by Home Office pathologist Hugh White at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester found that Mr Ayres died of a stab wound.

Mr Ayres, from Yateley, was taken by car to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey where he died at 3.50am on Sunday.

The bungalow in Holt Way, Hook, was understood to be rented out to a group of around four men in their late teens or early 20s.
