A NORTH Baddesley singer is on her way to becoming Britain’s Idol 2008.

Denise Medley, pictured, won the southern heat of the regional finals of the competition last month and will now complete in the grand final against singers from all over the UK.

It will be held at Portsmouth Guildhall on November 29.

Denise said: “I’m thrilled.

I didn’t think I’d win the regional finals.

I sang Queen’s Somebody to Love.

I’m unsure how many people I will be up against in the grand finals but I believe there will probably be about 20 people from across the UK.

“I hope I’m now on my way to stardom. I’d love to be in West End musicals and I wouldn’t say no to recording an album.”

To watch 24-year-old Denise in action in the final, call the Guildhall box office on 023 9282 4355. Tickets cost £12. Doors open at 7.30pm on the night.
