CROWDS of young fans queued outside Winchester Discovery Centre to get a glimpse of former X-Factor contestant Ruth Lorenzo in Winchester last night.
She was at the Jewry Street based venue for the launch of city based jewellers Gioia’s spring collection.
Ruth, pictured centre with admirers Hannah Lawless, left, and Lauren Sanders, made it to the quarterfinals of the ITV show before being voted off last month.
She was the special guest at the event at the Discovery Centre’s City Space and even had a piece of jewellery in the new collection named after her, the “Ruth Rock and Roll Necklace”.
Gioia, based in St Clement Street, has been designing jewellery for the X-Factor stars after Jake Sanders, the 19-year-old son of Gioia’s managing director Lisa Sander’s, became friendly with some contestants who lived near his London home.
Jake said: “We designed the pieces to fit the contestants. They match the Gioia style but adds the contestant’s spin on it. Ruth’s style was very rock and roll and we brought that into the collection.”
