EVERYONE knows Easter eggs are not just enjoyed by kids, but here is proof it’s not only humans that like the brightly-coloured seasonal treats.
Animals at Marwell Wildlife, near Winchester, took part in their own Easter egg hunt, rewarded with a tasty surprise for finding their way into the paper mache puzzles specially made by park keepers.
And while fillings of dates, seeds, grapes and mealworms might not sound as tasty as the chocolate handed out to youngsters across the county this weekend, they went down a storm with the monkeys.
The eggs were used as part of a behavioural enrichment programme, with the smells, textures, shapes and colours of the eggs used to stimulate the animals’ senses.
