A POLICE probe has been launched after images of ducks were paint sprayed outside the Gosport offices of the town's MP Sir Peter Viggers who was caught up in the Westminster expenses row.
Pranksters are believed to have struck between 3am on Friday and 8.30 am on Saturday.
Three yellow ducks with pound signs were painted onto pavement with the words "caution ducks only" next to them.
It is also understood that a toy duck was glued to a back window of Sir Peter's constituency office in Stoke Road.
The ducks are a reference to the MP's expenses claim which has caused uproar.
A police spokesman said the graffiti incident was being treated as criminal damage. Police are looking through CCTV footage in a bid to find the culprits.
He said: "An investigation is underway and anyone with information is asked to contact Gosport Police."
Gosport Conservative Association would not make any comment about the incident.
The pictures of the ducks have been spray painted over but the incident will add further to the embarrassment of the long serving MP who is stepping down at the next General Election.
As well as trying to claim for a duck island at his former Titchfield home he claimed more than £30,000 of taxpayers money for gardening over three years.
