Scooter crash shuts city centre road
Police have closed a city centre road following a collision between a car and a motor scooter in Southampton.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Bedford Place and Wilton Avenue after the smash just after 2pm.
An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the scooter rider but a police spokeswoman said the injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
Police have now closed Bedford Place from Wilton Avenue to its junction with Carlton Place as it awaits recovery of the vehicles.
