Jackson consortium pulls out of Saints race
A CONSORTIUM fronted by Marc Jackson has pulled out of the race to buy Saints.
The Dorset businessman informed administrator Mark Fry this morning that his financial backers, who were based in Israel, had withdrawn.
Mr Jackson told the Echo: "My group have pulled out and I have told Mark Fry.
"The reason is because they are not comfortable with the time-scale they were given to meet and they were not comfortable with the level of price.
"With speed comes risk and they see it as too risky at this speed."
Mr Jackson was forced to find new backers after his original consortium fell apart when the Pinnacle Group was awarded exclusivity.
He added: "I am now looking at other options as we speak. I do not want to let the club down. Again, I hope Pinnacle can complete."

I thought a race was between those who want to cross the line first - there seems no race going on to purchase Saints - the contest seems to be who will pull out last of all - I would think it's too late to re-start the club somewhere in the non-league this season if the worst come to the worst so we must hope that a deal will be sorted soon

result. you've antagonised everybody linked to pinnacle bid sensationalising and conjecturing with very few facts. those that you do get seem to be leaks from Fry so he can use the Echo to bully interested parties. You're most likely backing the wrong horse again, despite all the delays I, and the feeling I get from most posts, support Matt and to a lesser degree Crouch. They have flaws and have made mistakes, but we KNOW they have the club's interest at heart.

And as far as I can see there are only 2 consortium's now in the running PG and the swiss, Fry has not confirmed the other bidders from abroad has he? as i commented at the weekend: i offered anyone 10-1 that pinnacle would NOT!!! close a deal by 23.59 this evening. they are a shambles and have dragged this club to the brink of extinction.
as i also commented the time-frame would force any serious bidders to think again! nobody in their right mind is gonna sign up and invest in a business thats already gone t*ts up without a complete period of due dilligence.
Fry, MLT, leon all got into to bed with pinnacle and they will rue the day that they chose to align themselves with this group of chancers

From all I've seen Pinnacle have at least tried to keep people informed on a reasonably regular basis and have largely tried to keep things close to their chest, even if the Keegan pictures were unfortunate, not least in suddenly raising some ridiculously high expectations in what is effectively a deal to save our club first and foremost rather than think of an immediate return to the top flight.
In this financial climate I think it's only a good sign that the buyers want to know where they are before they make a purchase.
The 10 point deduction is an important factor in attracting the right manager and players, so they are right to get it sorted.
Now they need to either close the deal or walk away.
Let's face it, if they buy the club we owe them a huge amount of faith and patience.
This is about survival, let's worry about the long-term future when we know we have one.

It’s the fans blowing the in wind and not thinking about the future that **** Saints, not Lowe, not even Wilde, not anybody to blame but the fans demanding managers quit, the board quit, boycotting the SMS etc.

End of the day, it doesn't matter how much Pinnacle pay to buy SLH from the administrators, that's only of concern to their creditors.
Its also not a matter for the administrators to have appealed the points deduction. Their obligation is only to realise the assets of SLH for the benefit of the creditors, I suspect there's negligible difference in the value of the actual club whether its subject to the points deduction or not.

Many years ago Saints plyed their trade at a great little ground called the Dell. Word on the street from the boys in the know, was that we could not compete with the other boys in the 'Premier League'. We needed a new stadium to improve our chances of survival in the top flight.
Once built, these people in the know managed to spend next to bugxer all on decent players and so a few years later we got our just desserts of relegation. Now, not sure if i misunderstood or not, but the stadium was supposed to reduce the chances of us getting relegated? Following relegation, the one thing that was meant to help us move always move forward (St. Mary's) has been our overall reason for the demise. The top boys had peanuts and took from the club and put everything against the mortgage. Thanks Lowe, Wilde, Cowan, Richards and the rest of you incompetent fools....you really have wrecked something that had operated well within its means since 1885.
LOL (Lowe) if we get relegated we will have player wages cut as per these wonderful clauses in their contracts they signed.....blah blah, Lowe i despise you. Wilde, never come close to the New Forest you were the worst of the wosrt.

Now do you believe me. Fialka never had the money in the first place and when pressed would not provide information as to who the backers were.
In my professional experience the administration of Southampton FC has been a complete and total fiasco and questions have to be asked of Fry and his company who clearly have been negligent in that they failed to properly ascertain whether Pinnacle or their clients ever had the money to complete such a deal.
I am of the opinion that Fry should be sacked by the club and better connected administrators appointed who know what they are doing and have football connections which clearly Fry and his provincial firm do not.
I implore all of you fans to email the club and Fry's firm to demand Fry's removal and the appointment of a London firm of receivers who will have the connections in the city and elsewhere to move the club on.

like him or loath him rups has been round the block a few times has connections and is streetwise just what is needed now or we go under for good.also you all forget he got us out of that cowshed and into a world class stadium,the fact its not been paid for is irrelevant the rest of these guys are jokers..
