Double murder inquiry after stabbings

POLICE have launched a double murder inquiry after two men were stabbed at Gosport.

Hampshire Police confirmed that officers found one man seriously injured with stab wounds at 6.50 this morning in Alma Street, Gosport.

He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, where medical staff could not resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead.

Police officers also found another man, at a nearby home, who had also been stabbed to death.One man was arrested at the scene, with two others arrested later on.All three have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Superintendant Phil Winchester, who is investigating the incident said: "This is a exceptionally rare incident for Gosport and is being handled by the Serious Crimes Team."
