A TAXI driver is fighting for his life in hospital today following a two vehicle crash that closed a Hampshire road for more than four hours.
The 51-year-old from Eastleigh suffered life threatening internal chest injuries when his red Mondeo collided with a silver Audi near Alresford yesterday afternoon.
His 31-year-old passenger escaped injury but the driver of the other vehicle, a 56-year-old from Surrey, was badly shaken.
As reported yesterday, the accident happened shortly before 2pm near the Jacklyns Road bridge. An air ambulance was called to fly him from the scene to Southampton General Hospital.
Police, who set up diversions, are asking for witnesses to contact them 0845 045 4545.
