A GROUP of Hampshire students staged a short protest against changes to their tutor system.
Pupils at Brookfield Community School in Fareham took to the school field yesterday morning to show their opposition to plans that could see their tutor group system transformed.
As students walked to their first lesson of the day, some decided to stand on the school field for a short while, before heading to lessons as normal.
The school will soon be starting a one year consultation on plans to improve tutoring in 2010. The process will begin next week with assemblies with the students and meetings with parents to outline these plans.
Deputy headteacher Ian Gates said: “Some students, on hearing the plans today, walked onto the school field at the start of period one to register their concerns but, having done so, immediately made their way to their lesson.
“We are welcoming the ideas and views that students have and will be speaking to students and their parents next week.”
