POLICE believe a man missing from a secure unit in Surrey may be in Hampshire.

Samuel Boylan disappeared on Monday night, and detectives think he could have travelled to Southampton, where he has links.

The 20-year-old is on medication, and without it his condition will deteriorate.

Members of the public are advised not to approach Mr Boylan if they see him, but to contact police immediately.

Detective Sergeant Alex Maguire, from Surrey Police, said officers have been liaising closely with colleagues in Hampshire as they attempt to locate Mr Boylan.

"We know that Samuel shaved his beard off last week so he will look different to the photograph we have of him but I would ask anyone who sees a man matching Samuel's description to contact the police immediately," he said.

Mr Boylan is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit and white top.

Anyone who sees Mr Boylan should contact Detective Sergeant Matt Taylor from Bitterne CID, on 0845 045 45 45, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
