AN alcoholic man died at a Winchester hostel after snorting ecstasy, an inquest has heard.
A friend found Grzegorz Kurowski dead in his room at Milford House in Christchurch Road.
Charles Morgan said he had let the 27-year-old sleep on his floor after the pair had met up in Winchester city centre the day before.
In a statement read at Winchester Coroner’s Court the 18-year-old said the pair – who first met when they were both homeless in Southampton – had each snorted the powder of one ecstasy tablet and then had a drinking session in Abbey Gardens.
Recording a verdict of accidental death, Coroner Grahame Short said that Mr Kurowski’s abuse of alcohol, a narrow coronary artery and the snorting of ecstasy powder had all been contributory factors in the incident.
