A GANG beat up a man in Whitchurch after failing to rob him because he had nothing to give them.
Three men approached the 20-year-old at around 9.45pm on Saturday as he walked along Bell Street towards the doctors’ surgery.
They asked him to hand over his property but he had nothing with him. The men then assaulted him and walked off.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his head and stomach following the attack.
All three men are described as white and aged between 18 and 22.
PC Victoria Brewer, of the Whitchurch Targeted Patrol Team, said: “Incidents like this are rare in Whitchurch and although this happened in a quiet area it may have been witnessed by someone.
“We would ask anyone with any information or anyone who saw three men in the area at the time to contact us as soon as possible.”
