WINCHESTER MP Mark Oaten has revealed he had his first sexual relationship with a man at the age of just nine-years.
Mr Oaten, 45, claims he was the relationship was with a much older man, who was in a ‘position of trust’ and lasted two years.
The revelation is made in an autobiography the Lib Dem MP is releasing.
In the publication, he says: “Clearly it was wrong, but it happened and I've not even been that worried about it.
“I have never felt abused, hold no grudge and do not wish to drag the case up today.”
Mark Oaten hit the headlines in 2006 during the Liberal Democrat leadership contest, after having sex with a male prostitute.
That led to Mr Oaten withdrawing from the race to become leader of the party and blaming his actions on his premature baldness.
- 'Screwing Up: How One MP Survived Politics, Scandal and Middle Age' by Mark Oaten, is released next month.
