Four car crash causes 10-mile traffic jam

Four car carsh causes 10-mile traffic jam Four car carsh causes 10-mile traffic jam

A FOUR-car smash on the motorway has caused tailbacks stretching back miles near one Hampshire town.

The crash happened between junctions 12 and 13 of the M3 northbound by Eastleigh at 7.10am.

Nobody was injured in the accident although firefighters had to cut a man in his 30s free from a car.

The crash caused tailbacks of up to ten miles along the M27.

The traffic jam was made worse by a car breaking down after an engine malfunction and a motorist needing first aid along the route.

A Hampshire fire and rescue spokesman said: "The accidents was just a shunt but it has caused massive tailbacks.

"It is rammed, and I mean rammed - nothing is moving."

It would appear that person is you, judging by your lack of capital letters and correct punctuation. Also, the full-stop key on your keyboard appears to be stuck.
Having had to learn English as a second language, I cannot help but be amazed about how poorly British people use their native tongue in written form.

Rammed: Colloquialism meaning busy, packed.

You could have just looked in a dictionary if you have a limited vocabulary, BS.

It's your first language? Really? Honestly?

Besides, how come he is not allowed to comment on your mistakes but you are allowed to comment on those made by others (although I stil don't know what the hell you were referring to in the first place - I have seen no errors in the article)? Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Or, just don't be such a mong.

I'm local therefore like to think that I am up to speed with our colloquialisms, but never heard of rammed being used in this sense.

How many people know what colloquial means without first looking it up I wonder?

Without doubt, the most pathetic comment I have ever seen on this site. And there is a lot of competition!

That would normally be "infant school" (infant being the adjective) or "infants' school" (plural possessive).
Otherwise I'd ask myself "what infant are you talking about".

And you'd say "wtf mate?"

I do love cyberwarriors. They make the tedium of the day go that little bit quicker with their unintentional humour.

Finding it mildly amusing that 99% of the comments on here have nothing to do with the story itself!

He probably meant jammed? Gridlocked, tailbacked, queued, clogged, e.t.c.
Police say that the traffic is at a crawl and they hope to stop it as soon as they can.
This Junction is getting a bad record, perhaps a public enquiry should be set up to investigate why accidents keep happening here?

4 cars involved in a big crash on a motorway - you'd think people would be greatfull the Police and Ambulances turned up - what a pointless statement.
As for the Police in eastleigh - they were paid to be there by the council NOT the Police to assist in a census, in case of any traffic issues - another great H&S requirement from the government.

I think it's partly poor road design and partly poor driving.

In the space of a mile that section of the motorway has 6 lanes merging into 3 - M27 eastbound and westbound, plus A33 out of Southampton - quickly followed by J13.

All of this is topped of by the usual morons who have to get into the outside lane as quickly as possible - even though the other lanes are all moving at roughly the same speed.

There were 8 cars involved, the crash happened at 06.45. There were 2 ambulances, 3 Fire & Rescue tenders, 3 police cars and 2 unmarked cars. The road was cleared just after 08.45. The initial problem was caused by a car skidding and coming to a halt across lane 3 (the outside lane). the 2 cars following stopped in time but the subsequent 5 cars did not, shunting the first cars together.

I do still see an error in the photo caption though: "Four car carsh causes 10-mile traffic jam". Even my browser spell checker picks that one up!
