A LUXURY car was tonight torched in a petrol bomb attack in Southampton.
The private plated Mercedes was set on fire as it was parked in the street in Spring Crescent, Portswood.
A sock was found stuffed in a bottle on the passengers seat which had acted as a petrol bomb, firefighters said.
A brick had been used to smash the window of the car.
One fire crew from St Mary’s station was called just before 6pm to deal with the blaze.
Police cordoned off the road. No-no was injured.
A police spokesman said they had traced the owner of the car and were still investigating the incident.
