HUNDREDS of homes in two Hampshire neighbourhoods are the latest to join the battle against rogue traders and put a freeze on cold calling.
Two new No Cold Calling Zones in Eastleigh and Bishopstoke have been launched by Hampshire County Council Trading Standards and Hampshire police.
The move comes just a week after police launched an investigation into an alleged attack by a Scottish Power salesman on a 60-year-old from Eastleigh. Mike Cook, from Nutbeam Road, was left with a broken nose after the door-to-door salesman allegedly refused to take no for an answer and punched him twice in the face.
There are now 95 zones within Hampshire, covering more than 8,000 homes, in a bid to discourage rogue traders and pushy salesmen and women. Residents in the new zones will receive a special pack, including window stickers and tips on saying no.
