SIGHTINGS of the image of Jesus have been reported all over the globe and in all shapes and forms.

Frances Pennline claimed to have seen the face of Jesus in a cloud in Florida in 1973, while residents of Port Germein in South Australia claimed in 2000 that a shadow cast on a caravan park fence resembled the messiah. Bangalore baker Shella Anthony spotted Jesus burnt into a chapati in 2002.

Most recently the son of God appeared in the lid of a jar of Marmite in Rhondda, Wales, in May.

And it’s not just Jesus - in 1996 in Clearwater, Florida, an image of the Virgin Mary was said to have appeared in the glass façade of a finance building. In Florida in 2004, a toasted cheese sandwich said to bear an image of the Virgin Mary sold at auction for around £15,000. The Virgin Mary has also been spotted in a fence panel in Coogee, Australia in 2003, a hospital in Milton, Massachusetts, in June 2003 and a felled tree in Passaic, New Jersey, in 2003, on a rock in Ghana, an underpass in Chicago, a lump of firewood in Janesville, Wisconsin, a chocolate factory in Fountain Valley, California and a pizza pan in Houston, Texas.
