'Snow' falls at Bitterne lights switch on

THE ‘snow’ came down and the lights went up as hundreds of people turned out to celebrate the start of Christmas in Bitterne.

A 2,000-strong crowd watched on as Saints legend Matt Le Tissier flicked the switch to turn on the festive displays organised by local traders.

With fake snow raining down on them, visitors were entertained by pupils from Beechwood School singing Christmas carols, a gospel choir, children’s rides, a Christmas market and a performance by the Daily Echo’s Hampshire’s Got Talent winner Kyle King.
