A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife at their family home in Southampton.
The 47-year-old was taken to Lyndhurst police station after being detained by police officers investigating the fatal stabbing of Margaret Kibuuka.
The Daily Echo understands the man being held is Margaret's husband George Kibuuka, the father of the couple's four children.
He has spent the past three weeks in Southampton General Hospital where he has been treated for a stab wound. He was also recovering after drinking a quantity of pesticide at the house in Richville Road, Shirley.
Forty-year-old Mrs Kibuuka, who was studying accountancy at Southampton Solent University, was found dead by police who had gone to the house after neighbours called 999 on the morning of November 8.
Police arrested Mr Kibuuka yesterday morning around 11am. Today they applied for an extension to the time they are allowed to keep him in custody for questioning.
