Jay Z, P!nk and Blondie to headline Isle of Wight Festival in 2010

INTERNATIONAL music superstar Jay-Z, feisty rocker Pink and rock and roll icons Blondie have become the first acts to be confirmed for next summer's Isle of Wight Festival.

The rap and hip-hop idol Jay-Z, who headlined last year's Glastonbury festival, will be leading the list of artists at the annual musical event by headlining the Friday night's line-up on June 11 next year.

Headlining the mainstage on Saturday night will be New York City's The Strokes, who have just picked up NME's Album of the Decade Award for their 2001 debut This Is It.

Joining them on the Saturday night line-up is Blondie, who will be making a special guest appearance.

Pink will be the special guest performer on the Sunday night slot and organisers expect her to bring her showstopping performances for the final day of the award-winning festival.

John Giddings, festival promoter said: "Ever since I first heard the first Strokes album I have wanted them for the Isle of Wight.

"Jay-Z and Pink are two of the best live acts I have ever seen and the Blondie hits speak for themselves. I can't wait!"

Other confirmed acts include electronica duo Orbital and new wave band Squeeze.
