Man in court following Bitterne knifepoint robbery

A MAN was due to appear in court this morning charged over an alleged attempt to rob a store at knifepoint.
Darryl Jenkinson was arrested by detectives on Saturday following the drama in Bitterne on Friday afternoon.
As reported, a man allegedly brandishing a blade went in to Laly's store in Townhill Park Road and demanded cash.
He later fled, sparking a major police hunt in the area involving sniffer dogs and armed police.
Jenkinson, of Tunstall road, Southampton, is charged with attempted robbery and is due before Southampton Magistrates Court.
