IT was just a little too much to ask.
Around 155 dancers in 1940s dress took part in a mass jazz dance at Alresford railway station, near Winchester.
Shaking their hips to dance the shim sham, the group missed out on the record for the largest number of people taking part in a swing dance by around 140 people.
Despite not quite making the record of 291, set in Norway earlier this year, the group celebrated with a party and raised more than £350 for the Wessex Cancer Trust.
