Welcome Hampshire's Christmas babies

THEY were the best little Christmas presents ever.

Eleven mums gave birth at Southampton’s Princess Anne Hospital making their Christmas Day celebrations extra special.

The first baby born on the big day at the hospital was Diane Russo’s third child Connor Evan. Connor arrived at 12.55am weighing 7lbs 2oz.

Diane, 31, of Thornhill, Southampton, said: “Connor was actually due ten days earlier on December 15 but he held out until Christmas Day to be born.

“It was an interesting start to Christmas Day but he was worth it, he’s absolutely brilliant.”

Diane managed to make it back home by 6pm to enjoy the last few hours of Christmas Day with her other two children, Kirsty, 10, and Robbie, 9.

“Connor being born made their Christmas,” she added.

The second baby to be born at the hospital was to Kellie and Lee Bundy, who welcomed little Logan into the world just before 7am.

Logan, the Marchwood couple’s first child, weighed 8lbs 2oz.

“Our whole Christmas was turned upside down but Logan is the best Christmas present ever,” said Kellie, 29.

“He was supposed to be born eight days earlier so we were all set for a Christmas at home with the family.

“In the end, Lee ate Christmas dinner by my hospital bed, but it really didn’t matter.”

Lee, 26, added: “We are so chuffed, he is beautiful.”

Proud parents Hamid and Bibi Rashadian from St Mary’s in Southampton were also celebrating the birth of their Christmas baby boy who has yet to be named.

Bibi, 28, gave birth to the couple’s second child weighing 7lbs 8oz shortly before 2pm.

Hamid, 26, said: “We are so proud and so happy.”

In Winchester, six mums gave birth at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
