A DRIVER was airlifted to hospital this afternoon after a crash involving a school coach.
The coach was on its way to collect pupils from a school when it was involved in a collision with a car on the B3347 at Bisterne, near Ringwood.
The car driver was seriously injured in the accident and was flown to Poole Hospital by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
Fire crews from Ringwood and Salisbury were sent to the scene of the collision, which occurred just after 2.15pm.
Police closed the road while officers investigated the cause of the incident and arranged for the damaged vehicles to be removed.
The coach is owned by Solent Coaches, of Crow, Ringwood.
The driver is understood to have been unhurt.
