DRIVERS are being warned to belt-up and stay off the phone in Southampton as an initiative is launched next week to catch law-breaking motorists.
Council staff will be joining police and fire crews to educate drivers and passengers about the dangers of not wearing a seatbelt and using mobile phones while driving.
People who are stopped during the scheme next week will be offered the chance to attend a road safety course or face a fine or have points on their licence.
