Firefighters are tackling a thatched cottage blaze in the New Forest.

Crews from six fire stations, including two in Southampton, have been called to a property in Romsey Road, Lyndhurst.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said firefighters were stripping thatch from the roof in a bid to create fire breaks.

Crews from Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Lymington, Totton, Redbridge and St Mary's are at the scene.
