HAMPSHIRE- born celebrity queen of clean Kim Woodburn is urging people to put their rubber gloves aside and get in the fresh air for Southampton’s first Celebrity SunWalk.
Famed for her role in TV show How Clean is Your House? and runner-up in the latest series of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, Kim is putting the word celebrity in the SunWalk and telling residents to take part in the sponsored stroll.
Kim, from Ports-mouth, hopes thousands of people will glam up and sign up to the walking challenge to raise cash for charity.
People can either sign up to the 5km or the 10km route that will take walkers around the city, pounding the streets in aid of breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
Kim, said: “Breast cancer is a cause very close to my heart, as any of us can be affected by it at any time and I am thrilled that there is now such a fabulous fundraising event for it in my home county.
“I urge the folk of Southampton and beyond to glam up their bras and get involved.”
The city’s first Celebrity SunWalk put on by Walk the Walk and sponsored by Celebrity Cruises kicks off at Mayflower Park, Southampton on April 24.
The event coincides with the launch of the latest ship from Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Eclipse, which will be named in the city on the same day.
Kim said: “The whole family can take part, so get your gang together and sign up now. It’s a marvellous way to raise money for a truly worthwhile cause so please do sign up.”
As well as the walk taking place to the backdrop of the magnificent new Solstice Class ship, there will be something for all the family including music and entertainment acts as well as announcing raffle and competition prizes.
The ship from Celebrity Cruises is the first to be based from the port and will be dedicated to the UK market until November 2010.
