A windsurfer got into trouble in Southampton water near a popular country park.
The enthusiast riding the waves off Royal Victoria Country Park, in Netley was spotted having difficulties by patrolling Hamble Lifeboat.
The lifeboat team, who stood offshore, kept an eye on the windsurfer while they put in a call to Southampton Coastguard Rescue Team due to the bad weather conditions.
Rescuers arrived to help just as the boarder made it to land. The crew said he was cold and tired but otherwise unhurt.

Hang on a second! This it the "Echo" website! Where are all the usual comments about how this "moron" should be forced to pay for using the emergency services that "our hard-earnt taxes" paid for? This is nowhere near reactionary enough, Echo readers. Come off it, you can do better than this

So, in actual fact no-one rescued the windsurfer. He made it back to land by himself!

There are far too many exclamation marks for a readable article.
The use of the old-english word "earnt" proves that you have never grabbed a fox by the frills.
Your nebosh training has failed to make you consider the consequences to your health of trying to bat with the big boys.
The Solent is a wonderful playground for those of us who can handle the elements. Your disraceful comments do not spoil our fun.
