THE final concert of the Turner Sims' 30th anniversary season features a recital on an instrument that is central to the concert hall and yet it wasn't a feature there until three years after the building was opened.
The grand organ that sits majestically in the concert hall will rightfully close a fantastic anniversary season of music.
Built from American Red Oak especially for the Southampton venue, the organ has 1,600 pipes, the smallest being the size of a pencil and the largest 8ft long.
John Scott Whiteley is the man bestowed with the honour of performing at Saturday night's concert.
His recital is an opportunity to hear his interpretations of Bach's work.
The concert starts at 8pm. Tickets £15. Box office: 023 8059 5151.
