MORE than 80 library staff in Southampton have just passed their driving test.
But don't worry - it does not mean that there will be 80 more cars on Southampton's already crowded road network.
Instead, staff have passed their European Computer Driving Licences - a qualification which recognises their competence at vital information technology skills.
Staff will now be able to promote effective learning and ensure that library users get the maximum benefit from city library facilities.
They were presented with their awards by Southampton's mayor Councillor Parvin Damani at a special ceremony at the city's Central Library.
City council Cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, Councillor Peter Wakeford said: "The award of European Computer Driving Licences to libraries staff is further proof of their commitment to providing a consistently excellent service and is the result of hard work over and above their normal duties."
