THE best friend of Hampshire teenager Emma Holley, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident, has appealed for her killer to give himself up.
Emma Rose said she had been devastated by her friend's death and urged the driver to "give in to his conscience''.
She added: "She was a great friend and was an extremely bright girl who had her whole future ahead of her.''
The 18-year-old student from Ringwood died from multiple injuries when she was hit from behind by a car on Wednesday evening as she walked along a road near the village of Downton, near Salisbury.
Police believe a red VW Golf, later discovered on fire in a field two miles away, was involved in the incident.
A 21-year-old man handed himself into Salisbury police in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail.
Inspector John Boland said: "The investigation is continuing. We would appeal for any witnesses to come forward."
